The short version
Squishy Bun has no accounts and asks for no name, email or photos. Your collection is saved on your phone. The game shows ads from Google; players under 13 only get child-directed ads that are never personalised. We never sell your data.
This policy explains what the Squishy Bun: Unbox ASMR mobile game (“Squishy Bun”, “the game”, “we”, “us”), made by Ash Build, does with information. It covers the Android game and this website.
1. What stays on your phone
The game keeps one save file in its private storage on your device. It holds:
- which buns you own, how many times you found them and their Shiny stars;
- box counters (for the “Epic or better after 10 boxes” rule and for spacing out ads), the daily gift date and Lucky Packs waiting;
- your settings (music, sound, haptics) and which tutorial hints you've seen;
- whether you bought Remove Ads;
- the answer to the age question, stored only as “under 13” and “under the age of consent” yes/no flags. Your birth year itself is not saved.
We don't receive this file and it is not sent to any server. If your phone's Android backup is turned on, Android may include it in your own Google backup.
2. The age question
When the game starts for the first time it asks for your birth year. We use the answer, on your phone only, to choose the right kind of ads:
- Under 13: ads are requested as child-directed (as required by COPPA and Google Play's Families policy), limited to content rated for all ages (“G”) and never personalised. No consent form is shown.
- 13 and over: if you're in a region where the law requires it (for example the EU, UK or Switzerland), Google's consent form asks how your data may be used for ads. Players under the age of digital consent in their country are flagged so ads are limited accordingly.
3. Ads
The game is free and shows ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK): a banner on the home and collection screens, a short full-screen ad sometimes when you leave a room, and optional videos you choose to watch for a Lucky Pack.
To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- your device's advertising ID (for players 13+, depending on your choices) and other device identifiers;
- your IP address and the approximate location it implies;
- device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version) and ad interactions (views, taps);
- crash and performance data from the ad SDK.
For players under 13 the ad requests are tagged as child-directed, so Google does not use them for personalised advertising. Everyone else can change their consent at any time in the game under Settings → Privacy options (where it applies), and can reset or delete their advertising ID in the phone's settings.
Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
4. Purchases
The only purchase is Remove Ads, a one-time item sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details. The game receives a purchase confirmation from Google Play so it can turn ads off and restore the purchase if you reinstall. The Unity In-App Purchasing library in the game passes this purchase information between the game and Google Play. Boxes and packs are never sold.
5. Other features
- Sharing: the Share button creates a picture of your bun on your phone and opens Android's share sheet. Where it goes is your choice; we don't receive it.
- Review request: once, the game may show Google Play's own rating sheet. Your rating goes to Google Play, not to us.
- Haptics: the game uses the vibration motor for gentle taps. That's all the vibration permission is for.
- No analytics, no login, no contacts, camera, microphone or precise location.
6. Partners who receive data
| Partner | What for | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google (AdMob, User Messaging Platform) | Showing ads, asking for consent where required | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play (Billing, In-App Review) | The Remove Ads purchase, the rating sheet | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Unity Technologies | The game engine and the purchase library | unity.com privacy policy |
We do not sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone else.
7. Keeping and deleting data
Your save stays on your phone until you delete it. To remove it, uninstall the game or clear its storage in Android settings (Apps → Squishy Bun → Storage → Clear storage). Because there are no accounts, we hold no game data about you to delete. Data collected by Google for ads is kept according to Google's policies; you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your phone's settings. If you email us, we keep the conversation only as long as needed to help you, and delete it on request.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law) you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or limit its use, and to withdraw consent. Since the game data lives on your phone, you control it directly. For anything else, contact us and we'll help, or point you to the right partner. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
Squishy Bun is a game everyone can enjoy, including children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. For those players we only request child-directed, non-personalised ads rated for all ages, and we use ad partners certified for Google Play's Families program. Parents with questions can email us at any time.
10. Changes
If the game starts doing something new with data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
